Audrey Mabee

Audrey Mabee is an alumnus of the Alberta College and Design, and a former Acting President of the Institution.  She has been painting for over 30 years, and has exhibited in Calgary, Vancouver and San Francisco.  She has illustrated several books including Children Have Diabetes Too for the Calgary Children’s Hospital and has created artwork for instructional videos for the University of Calgary and the Holy Cross Hospital.  Significant commissions for private clients and commercial businesses include Starbucks and A&W as well as The Calgary Foundation and the Calgary Children’s Hospital.  Her paintings are included in many impressive private and corporate collections around the world and are available through Axis Contemporary Art in Calgary (axisart.ca) or you can view them on her website at audreymabee.com.

This  project has been a wonderful  opportunity,  challenge and a joy for me. ..exploring the mysteries, suprises and fantasies of the prairies.  The results are joyful songs about the land.  The delight  of the prairie landscape  interpreted with my own sense of fantasy has been an amazing experience.....and great fun.  It has been an opportunity and a challenge to honour and applaud  the land through painting the prairies in a non traditional way.
