Adrian A. Stimson
Adrian Stimson is a member of the Siksika (Blackfoot) Nation in southern Alberta. He is an interdisciplinary artist with a BFA with distinction from the Alberta College of Art & Design and MFA from the University of Saskatchewan.
Recent exhibits and performances include Beyond Redemption at the Mendel Art Gallery, Photo Quai, Musee du quai branly and Unmasking at the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris, France, and “Buffalo Boy’s Battle of Little Big Horny”, Mountain Standard Performance Festival 2008, Calgary. He participates at Burning Man and was featured in the 2007 summer issue of Canadian Art: Buffalo Boy at Burning Man and Spring issue of FUSE magazine: Buffalo Boy Then and Now 2009.
Adrian was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2003 and the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 for his human rights and diversity activism in various communities. He currently lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
