Bruce Miller
As a native of Minnesota, Bruce Miller need only travel a short distance from his home -- where he and his family live on one of the state’s many breathtaking lakes -- to find subject matter. Miller feels at home exploring the wilderness he loves to paint and enjoys the opportunities afforded to him in the natural beauty surrounding his studio.
Miller showed signs of artistic talent at an early age.
He started painting wildlife in 1980 and was later influenced by some impressionism he saw at the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis.
Miller has been artist of the year at several national shows. He has designed 23 conservation stamps, with the latest being the 2007 Texas Duck Stamp. In 2002, he was named the Rocky Elk Foundation Artist of the Year and, in 1993, he designed the Federal Duck Stamp.
Miller's work has generated over $10,000,000 for various organizations.
He divides his time painting landscapes and his new, more impressionistic wildlife paintings.
Miller lives with his wife, Deb, and their children Maycelle and Matt, on Lake Minnetonka in Mound, Minnesota.
