Dean Francis
Saskatchewan artist Dean Francis began painting full time in 1978. He is known for capturing on canvas, the light, diversity, and beauty of the Western Canadian Prairies. Dean spends a great deal of time observing, photographing, and recording life studies for his reference material. Throughout his career, Dean has exhibited his work in commercial and public galleries, including over 30 solo shows, and many group shows. He has attended a booth at the Calgary Stampede Western Art Sales Salon, for the past eight years. In 1996 he developed Sagebrush Studios; Home/Studio set within 20 acres of landscaped prairie gardens. This has now grown to include three old restored churches; one seasonal gallery, in 2000, one working studio in 2006, and another gallery in 2009. With expanded gardens and water features, visitors are provided with a unique prairie experience of art and nature. His paintings are enjoyed in both corporate and private collections in Canada and the U.S.
