Alan Snell
Alan Snell’s realistic and detailed painting style does not allow him to be prolific. He takes many hours to accomplish a painting, completing only a few originals a year.
In recent years Snell has been developing a second painting style and process on stone travertine marble. He adds gold leaf highlights on some of his stone pieces. His “Stone Art” is becoming very popular.
Snell received formal training and his degree for graphic arts and advertising design at the Colorado Institute of art in Denver, Colorado. His fine art is mostly self-taught.
His works have received awards and recognition and can be found in collections nationally and internationally. He was chosen in 2006 as “Artist of the Year” by the Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Montana, Alan Snell and his family are currently living in Helena. He has owned and managed his own art gallery and frameshop for over 15 years.
