Fran Francis
The clay works created by Fran Francis are inspired by nature. She is inspired by colours of the earth, textures of stones, accents of leather, antlers, feathers, fossils, and other found objects.
Fran has been creating art for over 30 years, as well as painting and drawing.
Inspired by early civilizations, her clay creations have a primitive look and a natural feel.
Fran has been showing her ‘Prairie Pots’ with great success for the last nine years and has developed a strong following of collectors.
After taking commercial art after high school, Fran worked as a sign painter for two years. She opened her art studio in 1993, painting and working in clay, doing shows and teaching local art classes.
Fran resides with her husband, the artist Dean Francis, east of Empress, Alta, at their Sagebrush Studios.
