Jonathan Havelock
Jon's photographic artwork captures his love for the prairies, mountains and ocean. He works exclusively with digital technology to create images that reflect the essence of the subject. Stormy skies over a canola field, the deep blue of a clear day or the brilliant greens and yellows of a lily pond are portrayed with sensitivity, realism and respect. By using various exposures, angles and techniques Jon strives to achieve a unique union of photographic detail with the depth, colour and light of oil painting. His goal is to highlight the extraordinary that is inherent in the ordinary – to heighten our appreciation and awareness of our environment and the communities and people that are sustained by it.
Jon currently lives in Edmonton with his wife, Neris.
