Judie Popplewell
Judie Popplewell is native of Calgary with a passion for painting animals and especially horses. Her keen sense of anatomy comes from a lifetime association with horses. Judie has become known for her paintings of heavy horses and farm equipment from a past era. Her work has been accepted in prestigious shows such as the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, The American Academy of Equine Art, Lexington, KY, and the Toronto Royal Fair. Judie has studied at the Alberta College of Art through the Continuing Education program, as well as with other artists to develop her own style. Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections. Judie is an avid horsewoman and competes in three-day eventing and hunter/jumper shows. Currently she holds a marketing position with an agricultural company and is looking forward to the day when she can paint full time.
