Linda Stewart
Linda Stewart was born in 1950 and grew up riding horses. Her artistic talents became evident at a very early age. She has been sculpting since 1980 and is well known for the subject matter she chooses - cowboys, horses, and dogs in typical ranch settings. Linda and her husband owned and operated their own foundry for six years. Linda and her family currently reside in the small town of Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada. Linda was awarded her first large commission in 1980 after only sculpting for six months. This commission consisted of eight bronze sculptures, four life size busts and four 1/4 life size rodeo event figures for four Canadian Professional Rodeo Cowboys who died when their single-engine Cherokee went down in the mountains of Northern California in May 1979. These bronzes were unveiled at the 1981 Canadian Finals Rodeo and are now on permanent display at the Canadian Rodeo Hall of Fame.
