Shannon Luyendyk Shannon is a native Albertan who resides in Cochrane, AB. Inspiration for her artwork comes from her love of horses, of life, God's creation, and taking pride in our western heritage. Shannon has exhibited pencil drawings at the Calgary Stampede Western Showcase and has won numerous awards; First in Class, First in Section, Judge's Merit Award and the Master's Award. Her work has been juried into the Calgary Stampede Western Art Auction and selected to be in the Calgary Stampede's Western Gallery. In 2004, 2005 and 2006 her work was juried into the Calgary Stampede four-day art sale salon. Shannon's artwork has been juried into the 2010 C.M. Russell Museum Western Art Auction. This is her third time juried into that prestigious auction. Shannon has participated in many "Quick Draw/Quick Finish" events at the Calgary Stampede Western Art Auction night, Rodeo Royal and the C.M. Russell Art Auction. Her chuckwagon piece of the late Richard Cosgrave is in BP Amoco's corporate collection and was used to commemorate Amoco's 50th Anniversary. Shannon won the 2008 and 2009 Cochrane Heritage Awards in the Cochrane Art Club Show & Sale.
