Lot Info
Charity Dakin Born in 1973 on Canada's west coast, the daughter of a dairy farmer and the oldest of five children, Charity was not born into the art establishment. Yet her resolve to pursue her artistic ambition was firm and in 2004 she debuted at the Harvest of Art Shows and Sale hosted by the NAIT Campus in Fairview, AB. The college purchased Charity's work as part of their permanent collection, proving her to be a promising emerging artist. Her passion is evident in her paintings. Charity strives to use her skills for the preservation of historic culture, wilderness, and the communities who live there. She devotes much of her time to working with other artists, sharing ideas and working cooperatively to produce shows and promote the arts in her community. Charity has contributed to numerous mural projects including the Alberta/Saskatchewan Centennial Mural "Buffalo Twins", presented to Queen Elizabeth during 2005's Royal Centennial visit, Earth's Treasure Chest, Le Cadeau Du Cheval, and most recently KUNAMOKST which was featured at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
