Calgary Co-op Kitchen Theatre
We're really cooking at the Kitchen Theatre! You're invited to watch the excitement and taste the culinary results of guest chefs each day of the Stampede. Thanks to our sponsors, local chefs and cooks use contemporary facilities to create down-home cuisine masterpieces, with urban chic and country flair. Each show is unique, fun, educational and entertaining.

Creative Arts and Crafts
Creative Arts & Crafts showcases the many different crafts created by amatuer artists and crafters. We feature traditional crafts such as, but not limited to: weaving, rug hooking, needlework, knitting, Eco friendly crafts, paper crafts, quilting, ceramics, painting & drawing, cake decorating & sugar art. One of the more popular exhibits is the Junior Section (Ages 12 – 17 years) where you can see aspiring artists display their work. Entrants compete for ribbons and cash prizes and bragging rights. This part of the exhibition has remained strong throughout the years with more than 500 entries annually. Please watch our webpage for the newest entrants' booklet

Window on the West
Window on the West (WOW) Stage, part of Western Showcase, is a ‘happening’ kind of place. Live entertainment on the stage features traditional country, modern country, folk and bluegrass with a sprinkling of cowboy poets and other entertaining endeavours. Surrounded by wonderful western art, a huge craft display, the Oasis wine bar and beautiful creations made by talented artisans, the WOW Stage is the place to be. Rest those weary feet and hear some great talent. Whether it’s to listen to solo songwriters, a group of fiddlers, local Alberta talent or cowboy poetry, the WOW stage will give you a unique perspective of life in the West. ....more

Western Canada's largest Western Art Show provides an integrated showcase of artwork for sale in a variety of settings: Artists' Studios, Western Art Gallery, Artists Ranch Project, Western Photo Gallery, and Auction. Western Art Gallery
The Western Art Gallery features new and emerging Western artists whose original work represents the heritage and grandeur of the West. Artists are selected by a jury process to ensure a selection of quality work in a variety of meduims, styles and subjects. As part of the Western Showcase art show located in the BMO Centre (formerly the Roundup Centre), the Western Art Gallery offers patrons an opportunity to purchase quality western art during Stampede with prices starting at under $1,000. ....more
Western Art Auction
For the artists, it is competitive. For the judges, it is a professional challenge. The result? A stunning 90+ piece collection of the finest in Western Art produced by Canadian and American artists, and a select group of historic estate pieces. This gala evening also includes a "Quick Draw", where artists produce work within a one-hour time frame. ....more
Artists' Studios
Artists' Studios endeavors to present well-known and emerging Canadian & American artists whose work is indicative of the heritage & grandeur of the West. Every artist is juried into the show which is based upon the quality of the work, as well as encompassing the theme of Western Art. The art featured is representative of Western Prairie / Mountain culture, lifestyle, heritage and characters, in diverse media and subject matter such as (but not limited to) Ranching, Landscapes, Rodeo, Agriculture, First Nations, Florals, Portraiture, Architecture and Wildlife. ....more
Artist Ranch Project
The Artist Ranch Project is a contemporary artist-in-residence program that visits a different Alberta ranch each year.
So far, sites visited include:
- the Bar U Ranch 2012
- the Calgary Stampede Ranch, 2009
- the a7 Ranch, 2010
- the Homeplace Ranch, 2011
This results in the final works of 5 artists and the opportunity to purchase "unique" one-of-a-kind pieces being showcased in the Western Art Show the following year. ....more
