Window On The West Performers
HARMONICA TABLEAU
Formed in 1992, and under the direction of George Dean, the Harmonica Tableau started entertaining at nursing homes but now spend their time bringing the joy of laughter and music to the residents of seniors’ complexes.
This 14 member group not only features harmonicas but also a bass guitar, guitar and sometimes banjo player. They will be playing some favourite golden oldies as well as some old-time western tunes at the Stampede.
Even though their eldest member is only 90 years young, the average age of the Harmonica Tableau is 87 years.
They credit the art of playing the harmonica for helping to ward off illnesses like emphysema – all of that inhaling and blowing air helps build lung capacity and is very healthy! They play for fun and health and are looking forward to their debut on the Window of the West Stage.
