Window On The West Performers
Prairie Mountain Fiddlers
The Prairie Mountain Fiddlers began in 1986 as a small group of amateur musicians with an interest in old-time fiddle music. Their membership has now grown to over 100 fiddlers and other musicians. They play at many different venues in Calgary and southern Alberta, including Heritage Park, the Torrington Old Tyme Dance Festival, the Climb for Wilderness, Stampede breakfasts, nursing homes and seniors residences. In 2008, they completed their fifth recording, a live concert at the Bert Church Theatre in Airdrie.
The Fiddlers meet year-round at 7:00 pm every Wednesday at the Good Companions Hall (2609 19th Avenue SW). New members and visitors are always welcome. From September to June, they also host weekly “Slow Pitch” (beginner) and “Early Bird” (intermediate) sessions.
