MICHAEL BRIDGE
Seventeen-year-old Calgarian Michael Bridge may be young in years but he is a veteran competitor and entertainer on his accordions. Michael is a past winner of the Open Classes at the annual festivals in Calgary, Edmonton and Kimberley and has been a headliner at festivals as far reaching as Las Vegas, France, and Leavenworth.
For 2010, Michael will be a guest artist for solo concerts at the Edmonton Accordion Extravaganza, Kimberley International Old Time Accordion Championships and again at the Las Vegas International Accordion Convention. In October, he will travel to Europe, to represent Canada at competitions in the Coupe Mondiale. (World Cup) He will be entering the 17 & under categories and the event will be held in Croatia.
Michael has just finished grade eleven at high school and has completed Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music Piano and will finish his Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music Accordion in 2011.
Michael has studied advanced theory and has produced two of his own CD’s with all original compositions. The First CD is “My Stuff” and was recorded at age 14 and the second is entitled “Sharon’s Song” and was released at age 16. Michael plans to pursue a degree in music once he has completed high school.
