JIM PEACE AND DUTCH CREEK
Living in Alberta since 1984, Jim is a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter producer and has been playing music and touring across Canada for 30 years. Jim has headlined at festivals and concerts across Western Canada from Winnipeg Manitoba to Kamloops BC., including 9 years at the Calgary Stampede.
In 2010 Jim came out with his first solo CD tittled “Circle Rider”
… "I’ve always liked songs that tell stories that touch people. It’s great when someone comes backstage after a show to tell you how a song you played connected to them. I was at a Cowboy Gathering in Pincher Creek last summer and a older fella came up and told me the story how he had met Tom Three Persons, the person in the song Cyclone, as a young boy when Tom sold horses to his father. Well this CD Circle Rider, like the title says really represents going full circle in my life’s musical journey from Folk and Traditional music to Country and back to my true love, Western Music". ….
Besides playing music, which promotes our western heritage, Jim’s other passion is riding horses in the mountains.
Dutch Creek consists of Jim Peace, Graham Allen and Mike Dygert.
Graham’s bass provides the heartbeat of the Dutch Creek Drifters sound. His early years were spent on farms and ranches helping herd and brand cattle. He also worked horses in preparation for the rodeo season. In the evening, his family listened to old time and western music. In these past few years, playing western music has brought Graham back to his western roots. Graham and Jim played together for years in groups such as Latigo and Double Diamond.
Mike Dygert also hales from Alberta ranch stock; his father grew up on ranches in southern Alberta. He too has a thirst for the stories of the old west, a dry wit that will have you wondering "where'd he come from?" and "How the heck did he get there?". As guitar and bass player Mike has toured across North America as part of The Gordy West Band..
See you down the trail.
