LEO DUMONT
Born in Lac la Biche Alberta, 1942, Leo is very proud of his Métis heritage. He got his first guitar, a ‘Gene Autry’, from his Mom at age 12, which she ordered from the Eaton’s mail order catalogue.
Leo has been singing and entertaining since he was a young man. He first appeared in the Calgary Stampede Parade in 1957, singing with his guitar, while riding on a wagon with Russ “Buffalo Bill” Greenwood, famous animal trainer. He has a wide range of experience, playing his classic country style of music in many different venues around Calgary and area, since the mid-1960’s.
Leo grew up in Sundre, Alberta and has a summer home there..He has sung for the Sundre Rodeo Pancake Breakfast every year for the last 15 years with up to 3,000 attending. Leo works as a pipefitter and consultant, and part-time entertainer.
Leo has a CD available for sale and plans on cutting another one in the near future.
