Prairie Mountain Fiddlers

The Prairie Mountain Fiddlers, are celebrating their 25th, Anniversary this year. The Prairie Mountain Fiddlers recieved their charter in 1987 and were formed to provide a place that fiddlers could come and share music with one another. From an orginal membership of about 30, we have grown to a membership of well over 100 members. Most of these members play the fiddle, but we have those who play other instruments as well to accompany the fiddlers.  We practice at the Good Companions Hall in SW, Calgary 52 weeks of the year, every Wednesday. The Prairie Mountain Fiddlers play at Senior's Residence's, Long Term Care Facilities, at Heritage Park, as well as other community events throughout the year. We are community based fun group of muscian's and encourage anyone who plays the fiddle or other acoustic instrument to join the group. The divercity of the group extends from those who are beginners to advanced players and eveyone is welcomed and encouraged to participate. Our members are from Calgary and surrounding area, but we do have members as far away as Newfoundland.
