SHELLY DUBOIS

Shelly Dubois is an original talent and she puts her heart and soul into Canadian country music.  This singer/songwriter is well loved for her exceptional stage skills. She has been performing with her band across Alberta and BC, giving crowd pleasing shows in the Peace River region, at the 2011 Calgary Stampede, as well as the Merritt Mountain Music Fest and Sunfest Country Music Festival.  Shelly has performed in the company of artists such as Duane Steele, Chad Brownlee, Hey Romeo, Jason Blaine, Dean Brody, Jetty Road, Sawyer Brown, and Lonestar.  A natural entertainer, Shelly was recently nominated in the first round of nominations by the BC Country Music Association in three categories:  Female Vocalist, Horizon Award, and Traditional Country Award.  Shelly also performed in the New Artist Showcase at the BC Country Music Association’s Industry Awards.

Dubois delivers a powerful and ‘bigger than life’ performance with her strong, clear country voice and authentic style and has been compared to artists such as Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks), Paulette Carlson (Highway 101) and Stevie Nicks.  The music of today’s country talents such as Martina McBride, Terri Clark, Dixie Chicks, Miranda Lambert and many others along with yesterday’s legends such as Patsy Cline, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood, and Highway 101 is recreated through the gifted vocal talents of this female country vocalist.

In May 2008, Dubois released her debut CD ‘I’m Not Lookin’ Back’ a collection of well written stories, made believable through her powerful vocals that visit classic country stylings and country rock with the same ease. All ten songs are penned by Dubois - ‘About Men’, ‘I’m Not Lookin’ Back’ and ‘Time for Leavin’ receive internet radio in Canada, the United States, Austria, France and the Netherlands. You can also find ‘I’m Not Lookin’ Back’ on the Songwriters Music Festival compilation CD.

From festival stages to small, intimate venues, Shelly has a unique musical ability that captures the listening ear of country music fans everywhere.

Shelly will be releasing her new single “This Town” to country radio at the end of April and looks forward to performing it at this year’s Window of the West stage.
